Airbag light illuminated disabling the vehicle's airbag systems potentially causing severe injury during a collision. dealership inspection revealed failure in the airbag spiral cable, an existing known fault recalled on other 2010 model year tacomas by toyota. this particular vin was not included in the 2014 toyota recall of 2009-2010 for spiral cable failure. toyota currently has no plans to expand their previous recall to fix this issue on other affected vehicles.
The steering column assembly contains electrical connections to the driver's airbag module housed in a spiral cable assembly, which includes a flexible flat cable (ffc). due to the shape and location of the ffc's retainer, the ffc could become damaged when the steering wheel is turned. while driving i noticed my horn quit working and my airbag warning came on and i know there is already a recall for the spiral cable assembly but my vin # is not included in the recall.
Air bag fault indicator is on immediately when vehicle is started , and does not go off . vehicle is equipped with the 16 channel spiral cable. also the horn is inoperative
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 toyota tacoma. while the contact was driving 45 mph through an intersection, another vehicle turned left in her path causing a collision. the front of the contact's vehicle crashed into the middle passenger side of the other vehicle. the air bags failed to deploy. there were no warning indicators illuminated. a police report was filed. the contact sustained a whiplash and pain in the lower back and right knee. the front seat passenger sustained bruising to the right knee, whiplash, and soreness to the body. medical attention was not required. the vehicle was towed to a collision center. the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. the dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 91,000. *tt photos attached *jb*dt the consumer stated vehicle was repaired. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2017 toyota tacoma. while driving 45 mph, another vehicle yielded the right of way and t-boned the contact's vehicle. the air bags did not deploy. a police report was filed. two occupants were injured and transported to the hospital. the vehicle was towed by an independent mechanic to the contact's insurance company for investigation. the dealer was not contacted. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided case number: 1909101335. the manufacturer stated that an investigation was needed. the damages to the vehicle were unknown. the failure mileage was approximately 43,000.
My horn stopped working a month ago-replaced relay-now airbag light is on- after reaading complaints, seems the two are related and recalled on earlier versions
Tl* the contact owned a 2019 toyota tacoma. the contact stated while her son was stopped in traffic, he was rear ended by another vehicle which caused him to move forward crashing into another vehicle. the contacted stated that the crash avoidance sensors were activated prior to the collision. the contact stated the air bags did not deploy. the driver sustained back injuries and was transported by ambulance to the hospital. the contact was unaware of injuries to the other vehicle occupants. a police report was filed. the vehicle was towed to an impound lot and deemed a total loss. the contact called the local dealer toyota of newnan located (2 herring rd, newnan, ga 30265, (770) 502-1333) to inquiry of why the air bags failed to deploy however the failure was not diagnosed. the contact mentioned that the front and rear frames were damaged. the manufacturer has not been informed of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 1,000. *tr
I hit a parked car while driving about 30 mph. the drivers air bag did not deploy.i suffered major injurys. i had a concusin and subdural hemotoma and had stitches in my mouth. the air bag would have saved me alot of pain
60,000 miles. three years ago the airbag light came on. we brought it and paid for diagnostics but no answers. now the check engine light and track off are lighting (not related to first issue) and the truck is in slowdown mode. we replaced the gas-cap but it didn't fix the issue. disappointed in what used to be a quality company.
Takata recall ( i think ) normal driving conditions,with passenger seated properly driver seated properly seat belts with shoulder harness properly fastened. hit a small bump ( pot hole) bounced pretty hard,did not bottom out.the warning lights came on immediately,cluster gage's and center warning ligh on dashboard center (air bag off ) trucks speed 35-45mph two lane highway
