Dear [xxx], i sincerely appreciate your email but i am completely satisfied with my 2002 toyota tacoma pick up truck at the moment with 134,000 miles as of today. the problem lies with the ?defective air bags and defective computer air bag.? over a year ago, this was accessed from haley located off rt 288 and the air bag light was coming on at that time. i paid for a diagnostic testing and it should have been resolved then, not to reoccur a year later. in any case, if a toyota vehicle has defective parts such as the air bag and its computer that is the responsibility of the manufacturer to replace the part and absorb the labor and costs involved to do so not at the expense of the client. the client did not cause the problem, it is a defect in the manufacturing of the vehicle. the problem i am now facing is that haley toyota wants me to absorb this cost of parts and labor to the tune of $711.00 for a defective air bag. i have not been ...

Airbag light on, driving.

Airbag warning light has been flashing for about 6 months . this is a 2002 tacoma extended cab pick-up truck with 56k miles. dealer says $200.00 to diagnose. costs to remedy airbag problem could be as much as $500.00 to $600.00, perhaps more. dealer states airbag will not deploy but is not sure of what is really the problem until the diagnosis is completed. my question is; why this problem with a truck with low mileage and taken to dealer since new for all required maintenance. *tr

My mother was recently involved in a car wreck where she was hit on the drivers side. she was driving a 2002 toyota tacoma and the drivers side airbag did not deploy. she was seriously injured in the wreck. i would like to know what can we do about this. *tr

I lost control of my truck when the driver front tire deflated. this occurred as i was taking an off ramp on to another freeway. this caused me to bounce off the hollow tubes in front of the concert divider. my 2002 toyota tacoma will require over $8k to repair. the driver and passenger airbags never deployed in my single cab truck. the damage taken was on the front driver fender/bumper (i have pictures) clearly the airbags should have deployed but failed. this caused me to slam into the steering wheel upon impact. *tr

Hit a deer at approximately 45 mph. destroyed from center of grill to the right front fender. two more inches and the radiator would have been included. no air bag deployed. seat belts prevented any serious injury. had only sore muscles. *nm

Dt*: the contact stated the frontal airbag sensors pick up radio transmitters. the dealership determined the airbags have a global positioning sensor and a secret surveillance device, which caused the radio transmissions. the manufacturer has been alerted.

Dt: the contact owns a 2002 toyota tacoma. he states that on march 20, 2005 he hit a telephone pole head on when his steering locked up and the air bags did not deploy.*ak

I approached an intersection when a on coming car made a left turn in to my car. we collided head on in the middle of the intersection. neither one of the air bags worked. i'm working for an auto supply shop and this is my delivery truck so i can't answer all the questions about the vehicle. *la

Topic:" drivers-side airbag failure.nfortunately, i was in an accident, which i was cited. fortunately, no one was seriously injured. i impacted the rear of a stattionary car at approx. 50mph and my airbag failed to deploy. i thank the lord nobody was hurt. but, what if someone was injured, the manufacturer would clearly be liable. i contacted the manufacturer about the incident. thier representative reported the sensors were not triggered, therefore, the air bag did not deploy. i feel this is an insufficient explaination and i need further information. *ak
