The vehicle stalls intermittently. it is as if the traction control system is cutting throttle input for 1-2 seconds. this occurs in heavy stop and go traffic. specifically, if accelerating to 10-15 miles per hour, then stopping, then attempting to accelerate again, the truck suffers an engine stall. the traction control dashboard indicator does not light up during this occurrence; however, the engine performs very similar to instances when the traction control does operate. the stall also occurs when slowing down to turn into driveways, etc. there is no required intervention to correct this issue; it simply lasts 1-2 seconds, then operates as normal. the vehicle was taken to two different dealerships (both toyota). neither was able to replicate the issue. i was told the vehicle did not have any error codes and there was nothing that required service. this event has happened approximately five times in the last 30 days (december 2019-january 2020).
Drive shaft u joint failed while operating at high speed. drive shaft snapped off at high speed and cracked fuel tank and exhaust. truck has had frame recalled and leaf springs recalled. truck has been in shop already 4 times regarding frame recall.
I took my 2019 tacoma sr5 to headquater toyota miami today. i told them that my truck vibrate when braking between 25 to 15 mph. they inspected my truck and told me they felt the vibration so they called the corporate and the mechanic was told to test drive a similar truck. the mechanic told me that it does the same thing and to wait for a maybe recall. next week i'm taking my truck to another dealer.
Vehicle exhibits a stumbling condition and loss of power when applying heavy throttle to accelerate from a stop or slow vehicle speeds. while driving under moderate throttle at approx. 45-60mph the vehicles engine feels as if it is misfiring and not running on all cylinders with a heavy delay in throttle response when the throttle is applied to increase vehicle speed. issue has been brought up with multiple toyota dealerships and also with toyota corp customer service. there is a software flash to correct this issue but toyota refuses to offer it to customer with manual transmissions because their tsb's do not list that manual trans. there is a 145 page forum thread regarding this issue where customers are resorting to flashing their trucks on their own to avoid the dangerous driving condition these trucks are exhibiting. here is a link to the thread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/software-update-for-the-manual.562550/ tsb 1 listing condition: https://toyotatalk.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/tacoma-t-sb-0062-18.pdf tsb 2 listing condition: https://toyotatalk.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/tacoma-t-sb-0058-18.pdf
1. vibration felt when slowing down. usually between 50 and 20. below 20 it goes away. feels like the tires are out of balance but my truck has 8k miles on it and i have felt it since the day i bought it. 2. also when the transmission is out of gear and clutch is out or the rear end makes a squeaking noise when hitting bumps. 3. clutch makes a noise when releasing it. 4. high pitch hum in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th when maintaining consistent speed. took it to the dealer, the dealer was able to replicate the issues with comparable truck on their lot and brushed it off as normal.
Feels very under powered for a v6 engine. the pick up seems deteriorating after few months of applying transmission programming upgrade. doesnt feel confident to pass or merge to a busy highway.
2019 tacoma sport, transmission judder, vibrate on slowing down and light acceleration on step incline on town or highway toyota dealer, toyota of olympia in washington says it's normal that works as designed. this can't be normal getting worse the more i drive only 3300 miles pls help with this problem more people are complaining about this issue. thank you
Having issue with the truck 'lurching and jerking" with rpms fluctuationing between 500 and 1000. this happens primarily in reverse with your foot on the brake with steady prussure. i had an uncomfortable incident with a woman in the supermarket parking lot. she saw that i had stopped to let her pass behind me when the truck took a short hop backwards. she was not happy. she took my plate # and said that she was going to file a complaint with the local pd . i have taken the truck to the local dealer and the old standard answer, " its normal".the tech that evaluated my truck verified that it was in fact lurching.. i think its a safety issue and have opened a claim with toyota care. this is not a new issue as there are several written concerns in the tacoma forums and on social media. i would hate to see someone get injured. i am not an automotive technician but i believe this possibly may be a software issue between the throttle control and onboard computer
Very loud whine from rear differential while driving at various speeds. most notably between speeds of 50-60 mph. this issues has been documented with previous year models of the same vehicle. however, the problem has not been fixed by the manufacturer with subsequent model years.
