The airbag light just turned on. cruise control on steering wheel is not functioning, audio control on steering not working also and lastly the horn is not working also. looks like a spiral cable problem based on the symptom and validation of discussion group online. checked for recall here and seen my vin number on the range for recall. why did i not received any recall notice on this. not sure if the vehicle is unsafe to drive considering the airbag deployed light is on or if this will affect the airbag deloyment if needed. this happened just recently and there are issues similar to my case. hope it can be fixed by toyota.

I have the airbag light on for about 6 months or so now and i am concern about my safety, me and my family. i checked, my car's model is not under the airbag recall but it is an important issue to be fixed.

I had the spiral cable fixed under the airbag recall in 2012. now the light is on again and they want to charge me $500 to fix the same problem. it seems to me if the fix breaks then there was never really a fix. so i guess now i will be driving without an airbag since i dont have the money to get this fixed. i will never again in my life purchase another toyota and will tell everyone i know to do the same!!

I got my air bag light on, solid light now, i connected the scanner and read code b1801. i checked in internet that could be a recall for some trucks. i went to the dealer and it doesn't show that my truck has that recall on. i need to do my smog and now because i have the airbag on i can not do it. can you guys help me.. my email is [xxx]. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

Never received recall on the airbags? safety harness in the back seats where my rand kids ride will not tighten up. leaf-springs bow up in the middle not down? have replaced u-joints more times then on my 97 ford. plus carrier bearings because of the leaf springs and stopped driving it because it goes back and forth on the road. my rear end howls and needs replaced because the rear end is higher then the tranny but there has been 7 recalls on this model and only found out about them on line. you must be doing a better job or your fired!!! lol but if you care i thank you but at least make them fix these safety issues, or at least make us aware of them instead of hiding them. don't let them get away with ripping americans off . to do so is no better then them.

My airbag light came on last week and i found a recall for this issue online. when i brought my tacoma to the dealership the technician told me the recall for the airbag light due to a spiral cable in the steering wheel was not covered for my tacoma model. the dealership said the current recall was for a certain spiral cable not in my model tacoma and that it should not be the issue. the next day the dealership called and said further diagnostic revealed it is the spiral cable and they are charging me $600.00 to repair a safety issue. the dealership said this was a safety concern and that the airbag would not have deployed if i were to have been in an accident. *tr

I have a 2006 toyota tacoma. i took it to my local toyota dealer in august to address the recalls needing to be done. they tell me they are backed up trying to get recalls fixed. it is now november and have not been called yet. now the leaf springs are on recall. i replaced one leaf spring in september 2014 due to it snapping.will i get reimbursed from toyota for this repair?? i have not heard from my local toyota dealer as to when they can fix the recalls, they said they will call me when they can get me in. what year will that be? will my second leaf spring snap and puncture the tank before it gets repaired? or will the frame possible rust out and fall on the leaf springs....... i love toyota tacomas, disappointed in the follow thru/timeliness on fixing these problems. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 toyota tacoma. the contact stated that the air bag light illuminated. the vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was found that the clock spring needed to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the manufacturer was contacted about the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number 12v092000 (air bags). the failure mileage was approximately 112,000.

Air bag light is illuminated on dashboard this will cause air bag not to function in an accident. can sometimes hear loose spring sound coming from steering wheel when making turns.

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 toyota tacoma. the contact stated that he was driving approximately 45 mph when the air bags erroneously deployed, causing him to crash. the contact suffered head trauma, back and neck injuries and a broken sternum. the vehicle was destroyed. the contact had previously taken the vehicle to the dealer for repairs under nhtsa campaign number 12v092000 (air bags) but no repairs were performed because the air bag light was not illuminated when taken for the recall service. the manufacturer was not notified. the failure mileage was 72,000.
