There have been several times i have gone out to my tacoma that i can hear the fuel pump running on it's own. i heard it running one evening, while no keys were inserted and the truck was locked up. the truck runs rough most of the time and i have problems with it stalling and not wanting to start back up again. it will take 3 to 4 times turning the truck over before it will reluctantly will start up. also the traction control button does not work anymore and the differential button when pushed on does not engage the differential. all of these issues have started at different times. the fuel pump running when no one inside it has just the month been noticed as well as the buttons. the stalling started to be noticed about 4 months ago and i at first thought it was due to it being not broke in or me not giving it enough gas, but it is almost every time now when i back up or go forward it can stall.
Two major issues on my truck: 1) the front driver side suspension has been squeaking whether the vehicle is in motion or not. 2) the radio unit reboots itself randomly and multiple times during a short drive rendering the backup camera useless.
The head unit is inoperable when connected to bluetooth and handsfree driving function is inoperable. toyota is aware of the issue and has no resolutions, but to blame panasonic. panasonic has a backorder with no end insight and cannot replace the unit with another model without affecting the warranty.
The bluetooth on the iphone 11 pro max and the tacoma are not communicating causing a safety issue, because i can not talk hands free as i am suppose have the ability to do so. the entire headset will turn off and on constantly , the only way to stop this is to either turn off the bluetooth on the iphone or remove the iphone from the tacoma. i have read on line that many people are having the same issue and either toyota or apple is doing anything to resolve it, causing a saftey issue.
On entering an intersection the vehicle applied brakes automatically and without warning. at that time the path forward of the vehicle was clear. this action caused a safety hazard by stalling the vehicle in the intersection. applying gas resulted in no forward movement. oncoming traffic had to stop abruptly to avoid a collision with my vehicle. i have been to the toyota dealership two times to have this repaired to no avail. the last communication from toyota concerning my complaint was a phone call from a factory rep advising me that i needed to read my owners manual regarding this issue. at this point i an afraid to drive the vehicle. please help. nhtsa ref# 247577.
A lot of us tacoma owners are having trouble with our blue tooth dropping out during phone calls. i live in massachusetts and they frown us from holding your cell phone to talk to someone. i purchased a 2019 and it has 900 miles and did not ever think this would be a problem with a brand new truck. to this day, it's still a problem.
I have owned my toyota tacoma for 18 months and my radio has had problems every since i bought it. toyota supposedly has ran tests on it every time i brought it in at 5,000 mile oil changes and tire rotations. it still randomly cuts off and takes forever to come back on. it also will end a call while i'm on the phone with someone or disconnect my phone while i'm on the phone with someone and won't connect back. today i took it up there and i just hit 37,000 miles today and now they want to tell me i need a new radio but it's not under warranty after i hit 37,000 miles so i will have to pay for it myself. it is now being taken up with toyota since i have told them about it since i bought the truck.
On august 17, 2019, i had been stopped at a drive through fast food restaurant when i heard a hissing sound and what looked like steam coming from the rear undercarriage of my truck. it was noticeable enough to have me get down and physically look at the vehicle. i did not see any obvious signs of damage or error, so i went about my day as usual. i have noticed since then, this noise happens sporadically and the a/c is not working properly. i parked the truck for three weeks and when i went to start the truck, a bunch of instrument panel lights were flashing, wipers were wiping and interior lights were flashing off and on. i turned the truck off and then attempted to start again, but it would not start so i had to have the battery charged. now the vehicle's rear blinkers do not work properly and stereo will not turn on. fuses seem alright with the exception of one that continuously pops when replaced (fuse for stereo).
My horn stopped working a month ago-replaced relay-now airbag light is on- after reaading complaints, seems the two are related and recalled on earlier versions
