On a intermittent basis the engine will suddenly accelerate when the brakes are applied. this is not a problem related to the floor mats. the last occurrence took place as i was entering a parking space the engine suddenly accelerated forcing me to forcefully apply brakes and pushing the gear shift into park. i looked at the mats and they were in there correct position. this has occurred about four times in about five years.
