Problems with 2000 Toyota Tacoma TIRES

We purchased 4 lt235/75r 15 lrc big foot a/t dual tires at $172.79 a piece 3/14/06, spending $787.31. sunday 6/24/07 on highway 40 at a speed limit of 75mph, the right front tire blew out, almost flipping us over, which would have created enormous damage to ourselves and our vehicle. luckily, i stabilized the vehicle and pulled off the road. tuesday 6/26/07 we went to big o tires at 2010 e. lake mead blvd, north las vegas, nv to get a replacement. manny was apparently unable to locate a replacement tire, despite checking throughout las vegas and california. how can big o sell tires with a supposed guarantee when they can't locate any such tires with which to replace them? this morning manny put on another brand tire, supposedly of equivalent value and durability. it is a p, not lt, tire?how is that equivalent? it has a speed rating of s vs. the rest of the tires have a speed rating of q. and on the big o tire web site it states, ?never mix tires with different speed ratings, as this may cause serious handling problems.? so much for equivalence! furthermore, it is a spector advanta tire, ...

Was driving and when the steering wheel started vibrating. left side of vehicle was bumping erratically. pulled over, and stopped, noticed left rear tire sidewall separated. vehicle towed to dealership. caused of sidewall separation was unknown. firestone, size p215/70r14. *ak *ph *nlm

Pe00-046/tire failure: left front tire experienced a blowout while traveling at 73 mph with only driver in a 2000, toyota, tacoma; original equipment, tire size p265/75r15, dot# unavailable. goodyear was notified ,and unwilling to assit in this matter. *ak *jb

Tires are shredding and cracking. firestone will not replace blame toyota for not balancing tires properly, toyota blames firestone. both agree tires are worn to the point of danger and do not show normal tire wear. help. *ak (dot number: w2hhawa469 tiresize: p225/75r15)

All four tires have reoccuring "feathering" or cupping on the outer treads. manufact. blames out of alignm--dealer checked twice and it was ok (09/13/2000 @ 5114 & earlier). tires have been rotated twice already since i bought the truck (buy @ 1,866 mi). tires rotated at 3128 & 7123 mi). i have also experienced problems with the invicta gl (oem) on my previous vehicle--the effect was the same as what is happening now. manu continual denial of possible flaws in design. on a side note, the tires do not look like they will last over 20k mi. with my last vehicle they only lasted to about 13k. also, see other complaints about the goodyear invicta gl--they are relatively consistent with this one.*ak (tiresize: p195/75r14)( dot number: tire size: p195/75r14 )

I purchased a 2000 tacoma in the month of july. i have no problems except for the goodyear tires. the goodyear tires have been found defective by sears automotive and toyota and should be replaced asap. for more than a month, i have contacted goodyear regarding the problem, but under my warranty, i took my 2000 tacoma to a local dealer. miguel perez (1045) - rogers and rogers toyota, phone # (760) 353-9300 attended me and for several weeks confirmed that all four tires would be replaced. as of today my tires have not been replaced, except for one tire, which i was charged $7.50. , i am confident you will want to resolve this issue quickly and thoroughly. i am asking that you to look into this matter as it concerns me and other drivers, since the local toyota dealer stated to me, "there was no more they can do."*ak (tiresize: p265/75r15)( dot number: tire size: p265/75r15 )

Pe00 020; consumer was traveling about 55mph on highway and heard a popping noise/ vibration. also,noticed that his vehicle was unbalanced. he was able to pull over to the shoulders, and noticed that right rear tire tread separated. there were no injuries. firestone, wilderness #httire,p215/70r1496s. *ak

Pe00020, original equipment on 2000, toyota, tacoma, 16 inch tire. while driving there was a loud thumping noise and vibration on the steering due to two front tire belts that broke, and seemed that tread was separating. toyota was willing to replace all 5 tires, including the spare. *ak

While traveling on a maintain cinder road, the tire failed. the dealer refused to replace the tires and refered consumer to firestone, tire was a wilderness at, p265/75r15, dot # w29v, consumer requested reimbursement. *cj

Excessive wear on front tires, replaced tires bad and are being replaced by firestone. new tires required 5 oz weight to balance. only allowing me to replace with same wilderness at tires. can not drive over 55 mph with vibration from tires. *ak( dot number: tire size: 265r15 112 )

Truck has vibration and shimmy at all speeds. tires were replaced at 1900 miles. truck still has vibration . tires were balanced 6 diferent times . dealer say its in the tires and the tire place says it is not the tires. took to another dealer and they said nothing wrong with tires or rims but truck still has vibration . *ak (tiresize: 31x10.5x15)( dot number: tire size: 31x10.5x15 )
